Date Nights: 5 simple date night ideas that wont break the bank

If you're anything like me, you're busy and date nights can be the last thing on the "to do" list. This is something that I'm being intentional about changing in 2020. I'm sure you've heard many people say that you need to date your spouse especially if y'all have kids. As much of a blessing kids are juggling them, work, household duties and a relationship can be quite the challenge. It's easy to full into a routine and neglect your love life. So here is some inspiration for date night ideas that won't break the bank and some that you don't even have to leave the house for.

Fortnight: No I'm not talking about the popular video game. I'm thinking more of grabbing some blankets, pillows and the couch cushions and building a fort. Kind of like when we were younger but the difference is NO KIDS ALLOWED! In the fort enjoy your favorite movies or TV shows or even just engage in a conversation. You'll be surprised at how much fun you might have.

Naughty Game Night: This is my FAVORITE date night activity because I'm always down for a good game of hide and go freak. Put the kids to bed (if you have kids) and bring out your favorite board games but add a sexy wager. Winner gets to call the shots in the bed room. This is especially great for competitive couple and helps to keep the spark alive. After it's all said and done its all fun and games!

Chopped Challenge: Instead of going out to a fancy restaurant and spending a lot of money. Have a cook-off or chopped challenge. You and your spouse agree on one dish that doesn't take too long to whip up. Each of you make your own version of the dish and have a great meal. If you're competitive you can take it a step further and invite another couple over to judge whose dish was better. Have a great plate and double date.

Exploring The City: Take some time to go for a walk with your spouse. If you've noticed that you all have been at odds with each other fresh air certainly helps to clear the air. Walks are a favorite for us. We always discover new restaurants, shops and home inspiration.

Food Trucks Fanatic: I'm a sucker for a good food truck and food trucks make great spots for non traditional dates. You can find some really amazing things to eat at great prices. Here in Dallas we have a park where food trucks park 7 days a week. My favorite truck is called The Butcher's Son. If you ever see it you have to stop. Check the internet for parks in your area that may have food trucks.

Im looking forward to this weekend. It's the first date night that we have planned in a while. Of course we will be doing one of the activities above. If you have anyone more date night ideas don't hesitate to comment below. I'm always looking for new things to add to the list. Thanks for reading.
